If you take your career seriously you need to update your professional portrait regularly.
In April when my birthday rolls around I make an appointment for my annual check-up. It’s part of my regular health maintenance program. If your fortunate enough to have health insurance you probably do the same. And yet, when it comes to maintenance of your career image, some people think once every five or even ten years is good enough. It’s not. Like your health, your business portrait needs a check up on a regular basis. It’s often the first thing visitors see on your website or social media. Everyone will google you, google yourself regularly and see what images are out there. The impression your portrait creates could make a difference as to whether that individual decides to choose to do business with you instead of someone else.
You may recall the saying “A picture is worth a thousand words”.
That old adage is now becoming even more relevant in today’s business world. We know how quickly style changes, trends change and we change (often for the better!) –so why not change the picture you use to present yourself as a professional?
I’ve worked with the exquisite jewelry designer Jamie Wolf for over 6 years now.
Her image has evolved along side her business while always remaining classically stylish. Here are some samples of our shoots and their usage over the years.
